Travel Directions is excited to work with Dr. John Sconzo, a leading food and cuisine expert & photographer, who writes a blog called DocSconz, Musings on Food and Life.  His relationships within the food world have provided us the opportunity to create specific niche food tours to different cities and countries throughout the world.
On these tours our guests will be able to learn directly from the different chefs as we interact and discuss their history and the local resources at their disposal.   These are interactive trips including dining, culture, market visits and hands-on workshops.
Trip lengths vary from 4 nights to 2 weeks depending on the destination.  Group sizes are small.

Travel with Doc New York City ‘Make It Nice’ Weekend, June 2-4, 2017 featuring Eleven Madison Park

Join Dr. John Sconzo and Charles Grabitzky with Travel With Doc, LLC, on a weekend culinary experience to New York City where we uncover the restaurant group led by Chef Daniel Humm and Will Guidara. During this 2-night stay, you will be treated to an intimate experience in gastro-tourism with many special treats throughout the trip.

Recent Tour: Travel with Doc Culinary Insights Tour to New Orleans, March 29 – April 2, 2017

Our recent City Series Culinary Insights Tour took us to New Orleans.  This 4-night tour combined all of the culinary and cultural elements of New Orleans.  We were co-led by chefs Alex Harrell of Angeline and Michael Gulotta of MOPHO as we explored what makes New Orleans one of the culinary capitals of the US.  This unique tour included a variety of regional activities including visiting an oyster workshop, a traditional Cajun boudin workshop and crawfish boil, enjoying cocktail workshops and much more.
This was a trip not to be missed.

Recent Tour: Travel with Doc Culinary Insights Tour to Miami and Key West, April 15-22, 2016

We recently completed our first Travel with Doc Culinary Insiders Tour.  With 5 nights in Miami and 2 nights in Key West, our guests were able to sample the cuisine throughout Southern Florida.  Our co-leader for this trip was chef and author Norman Van Aken, who led us through Little Havana and other hidden spots.
