Inhotim, a natural hallucinogen

In Brumadinho, outside of Belo Horizonte, Brazil, is a place that is beautiful and hallucinogenic.  It is a combination of too many Jimi Hendrix experiences on Haight Street in San Francisco and the landscape straight out of Jurassic Park.  The location is called Inhotim and it was here that we took a break from the World Cup action and escaped into this wonderful world of art, nature and landscape design.

Inhotim is a 5,000-acre botanical garden that became a public institute in 2008.  It is full of artworks and galleries spread throughout the garden.  Some of these displays of art are so strange that you have to just pretend to understand them.  But it is this thought-process that makes this place so special.  To leave one gallery and walk along the landscape that has been carved into this garden is just rejuvenating.
